Phase 2 site preparations have commenced with ongoing negotiation of a Power Purchase Agreement with the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Company (NBET) along with other commericial agreements. In addition to the current 191MW installed capacity

IPC currently evacuates power through a 45km double circuit 132KV transmission line from Ikot Abasi to Eket Substation. This line has the capacity of transmitting 200MW of electric power and is enough to evacuate the total power generated from Phase I.

Ibom Power Project was originally conceived as a captive 100MW captive power plant which would be part of a crude oil refinery development. Subsequently, after discussions with the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (“PHCN”); the overall capacity was increased to 685MW which would be developed in two phases.
